Sake Tasting While Touring Akenobe Mine (8/31 & 9/21)🍶😋

Tour the Akenobe Mine and take part in a unique sake tasting experience inside the “Meijukugura” sake cellar along the 650m of tunnels open for exploration.

The tunnel maintains the perfect conditions for aging sake, with a consistent, cool temperature of 13°C throughout the year, making the two sake labels, “Akenobe” and “Sensakura,” products of high demand.

The Akenobe area in Yabu once prospered as Japan’s largest tin mine until it was decommissioned in 1987. Today, Akenobe Mine is part of the “Kōseki no Michi” (The Ore Road) and is recognized as Japan Heritage.

While you’re in the area, hop on the “Ichi-En Densha” (1-Yen Train) that transported miners in the tunnels for nearly a century and re-live this history!
